Description of the Condo

Our condo on the Big Island of Hawaii is located 5 miles south of the Kailua-Kona village, in a resort community called Keauhou.  The complex is the Keauhou Surf and Racquet Club.
Our condo is on the top floor (3rd) and is a corner unit with wraparound window walls to the west and north.   From inside or from the tiled lanai, there is a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean and the coast, along with spectacular sunsets.  This condo is
oceanfront  with the shoreline a mere 30 feet way.  Viewing humpback whales from the lanai is a frequent occurrence during the whale migration season.  Throughout the year, you can always catch a view of dolphins playing just off the shoreline.

The shoreline doesnít provide beach access to the ocean.  Instead, there is a lava rock cliff that often catches the big surf to send up a 30 foot spray.  A primo snorkeling beach is just to the north of the resort.

Views from the east side of the condo face the volcano Mauna Loa and the adjacent Kona Country Club golf course.

The condo is a comfortable 1200 sq. ft. with two bedrooms and two bathrooms.  The master bedroom has a queen sized bed and the 2nd bedroom has twin beds that can be pushed together to make one large bed.  The living room boasts a large comfortable couch that allows for views to the ocean and/or the television.  The entertainment center consists of a cable-connected television, DVD, VCR and CD AM/FM radio.  Free broadband Internet access is available in either wireless or direct connect Cat-5 cabling mode.

There is an interior dining area that youíll only use in the unusual circumstances when you arenít dining on the lanai.  The condo is equipped with a full kitchen and a washer/dryer.  The resort complex provides a barbeque area.

The condo is not air-conditioned.  However, the east to west airflow catches the ocean and mountain breezes to keep the condo at a comfortable temperature year round.
